ABOUT THE MUSEUM
FPM is a special museum of modern art and technology, because the most important engravers of Greece, such as Tassos or Kefallinos, have been working on the production of postage stamps over time, whereas old machinery and post office equipment are exhibited as well.
The Museum mission is to preserve and exhibit the postal history of Greece with a special emphasis on philately, i.e. the history of Greek stamps and to give access not only to researchers and philatelists but to the wider public, too.
Besides the stamps themselves as the final product of the artistic work, there are preserved and axhibited the original designs, often water-colors, engravings, drawings, etc. of the artists, on which the final illustration of the stamp was based as well as postal items such as seals, post office boxes etc.
